Spine Surgery Education Class

MetroHealth Spine Center nurse educatorsIf you or a family member are preparing to have spine surgery at MetroHealth, you are encouraged to attend a Spine Surgery Education Class.  

The goals of the class are to:

  • Increase your general knowledge of spine health 
  • Help you prepare for surgery  
  • Guide you through the recovery process  

Class overview:

  • Taught by neurosurgery nurses who collaborate with surgeons daily to ensure you are prepared for surgery.
  • Structured from patient questions and concerns commonly asked by patients regarding surgery and the recovery process. 
  • Slides, short videos and demonstrations of medical equipment are used to make the class interactive.
  • Offers a unique opportunity to interact one on one with nurses to discuss individual care plan.

With over 50 years of combined nursing experience, our nurse educators will make sure you and your family are knowledgeable regarding the spine surgery process.

The class lasts approximately 60 minutes and is free to participate.  

Classes are held once a month at our Parma and Main Campus locations.
