Clinical Trials Unit (CTU)

The MetroHealth Research Institute’s Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) offers centralized infrastructure to support clinical research. The unit consists of research nurses, research study coordinators, and regulatory support specialists available to assist investigators in the conduct of clinical research.

The CTU is comprised of three clinical research teams and along with the Clinical Research Unit (CRU), we conduct trials in a wide range of disease areas. Types of studies that we support include phase 1 through phase 4 clinical trials and translational research. Studies may be funded in a variety of ways: Federal Grants from NIH, Department of Defense, Foundations, and Industry.

The MetroHealth research portfolio consists of a combination of investigator-initiated studies and sponsored research. Studies are led by principal investigators and research team staff that include nurse coordinators and study coordinators who also have the support and expertise of their clinical research managers. Administrative oversight and research resources are available on request on a recharge basis.
