Spiritual Care
Spiritual care is an important part of the holistic care concept of MetroHealth. Our professional chaplains are theologically and clinically trained, and have advanced training in ministering in the hospital setting.
MetroHealth chaplains accompany you through your hospital stay by listening with compassion and providing a calming presence; having a conversation with you about hope, fear or other emotions you may be feeling; counseling you through a period of confusion or pain; helping you to tap into your own inner strength and ability to cope; offering prayers and blessings; or providing communion or anointing.
Our chaplains are available when you are:
- Anticipating surgery or a procedure
- Anxious, worried, lonely, far from home
- Grieving a loss or life change
- In need of prayer or spiritual counsel
- Talking about major decisions
- Interested in talking about spirituality as a source of strength and meaning for you
Availability
Monday through Friday - 8:30 a.m. til 5:00 p.m.
During any other time, call the hospital operator at 216-778-7800 and have the operator page the on-call chaplain.
