Head and Neck Cancers

Head and neck cancers are a broad category of cancers that occur in the head and neck region and are more than twice as common among men as they are among women. These cancers include:

• Tongue or mouth cancer
• Tonsil or throat cancer including HPV-related tumors
• Voice box cancer
• Thyroid cancer
• Parotid cancer
• Nasopharyngeal cancer

Cancers of the head and neck can be particularly aggressive. Early detection is one way to reduce the chance of the cancer’s spreading.
