Wyatt Bensken is a PhD candidate in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Case Western Reserve University, working under the mentorship Dr. Siran Koroukian. Wyatt is in his 3rd year in the program where his research interests center around disparities in health and health outcomes. Wyatt’s dissertation focuses on disparities and inequities in health for people with epilepsy on Medicaid, with a goal of identifying potential points of intervention to improve health outcomes. In addition to this work, he has undertaken a line of research inquiry focused on understand the role of health-related social needs on health outcomes – which he will be presenting on this morning. Prior to coming to Case Western, Wyatt earned a bachelor’s degree in public health and subsequently worked at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.
