MetroHealth’s podiatrists diagnose and treat conditions of the foot, ankle and related structures of the leg.
They have completed four years of study at a podiatric medical school and three years of hospital residency. Our team is committed to improving podiatric medicine, actively training new podiatrists and assisting with research studies.

Our podiatrists treat a wide range of foot problems, including:
The physicians of the podiatry department provide conservative and surgical options for conditions of the foot and ankle.
Conservative care options vary based on conditions. These include shoe recommendations, orthotic and brace prescriptions, topical and oral medications and referral to physical therapy to name a few.
When conservative care fails the team of podiatrists at MetroHealth provide surgical options to get you back on your feet and moving again.
We provide treatments such as routine wound care, therapy, and surgical interventions.
Diabetes
People with diabetes often need specialized foot care. In general, we see people with diabetes once a year for foot checkups and can make recommendations for further care based on severity of diabetes during an initial examination.
Poor Circulation
Our podiatrists often work with specialists from the Heart & Vascular Center to care for patients with poor circulation.
Trauma
For patients with complex injuries that extend beyond the foot and ankle, we partner with the Orthopedics Team. We also work closely with physical therapists to serve patients who could benefit from therapy.
