What to Expect at a Baby-Friendly Hospital
During Pregnancy
- Respect & Support – We explain breastfeeding benefits and support your feeding choice.
- Preparation – We help you plan for breastfeeding; partners are encouraged to participate.
Birth & First Days
- Skin-to-Skin Care – Baby rests on your chest for at least an hour after birth (when safe), promoting bonding and breastfeeding success.
- Expert Guidance – Our trained team helps with latching, feeding cues, milk supply, and safe formula preparation if needed.
Throughout Your Stay
- Rooming-In – Baby stays in your room unless medically necessary to separate; nursery care is available if you need rest.
- Breastfeeding Support – Specialists and nurses assist with feeding or pumping. We can help you access a breast pump through insurance or financial aid.
Going Home

- TLC Support Group – Meets in person Mondays, virtually Wednesdays.
