Ohio Mental Health & Addiction ServicesThe learning community will entail a twelve-week curriculum, each two-hours, to include structured educational sessions; ongoing technical assistance (TA) delivered through our board-certified emergency and addiction medicine experts, and licensed support staff available to all hospital systems throughout Ohio.   

Event is free.  Registration is required.

 

How to Participate

  • The twelve-week sessions will be provided via MetroHealth’s WebEx teleconferencing platform.
  • A topical satisfaction survey for each didactic and interactive session will be emailed to each participant within 72 hours of each session through the MetroHealth MyEvaluations.com electronic platform.
  • Completion of surveys will be required to receive CME/CEU credits and survey results will be used to drive continuous process improvements.
  • Each 2-hour session will receive two credits, a total of 24 CME/CEU hours may be earned.

Registrants who participate in 10 of the live 2-hour webinars in the series and one technical assistance call may be eligible for a $500 stipend.  This incentive will be available for up to 2 individuals per institution.  Other incentives will be available throughout and upon completion of learning sessions.

Learning Community Session Objectives:

  1. Identify how to incorporate Peer Support into the ED setting
  2. Evaluate for Buprenorphine induction or harm reduction strategies based on patient needs
  3. Recognize the symptoms of opioid use disorder in complex ED patients

The curriculum presented is consistent with education provided in the Providers Clinical Support System (PCSS) MAT curriculum and addresses core elements unique to treating opioid addiction with MAT in the ED.
