The Cleveland Center for Emergency Care Research and Innovation

The Cleveland Center for Emergency Care Research and Innovation (ECRI) is dedicated to promoting research over many aspects of Emergency Care Delivery. We believe that research and innovation is essential to the continuous improvement of emergency care delivery and are committed to this goal. Innovative discoveries, which can shape our approach to Emergency Care are essential to our mission of high quality, cutting edge patient care.

Our research efforts encompass departments of Emergency Medicine in the MetroHealth System and The Cleveland Clinic, which are shared clinical sites for the combined Case Western Reserve University MetroHealth and Cleveland Clinic Emergency Medicine Residency. Our researchers are faculty of the Case Western Reserve University or Cleveland Clinic Lerner Colleges of Medicine. Emergency care research encompasses a diverse range of pursuits, reflecting the broad scope of emergency care. At the Cleveland ECRI, some of our most active research programs include Resuscitation, Stroke, Ultrasound, Informatics, Emergency Medical Services, Geriatrics, Simulation, Opioid Safety and Addiction Medicine. These efforts involve multiple investigators, including residents and trainees, in a highly collaborative environment. We encourage collaboration, locally, nationally and internationally and have multiple partners within the CWRU/Lerner family and beyond.
