Dr. Han has studied intestinal epithelial and stem cell pathophysiology during gastro-intestinal diseases over a decade. Dr. Han lab research is mainly focused on studying how aberrant cytokine signaling regulates stem cell malignancy. Using murine and patient adult stem cell-, and induced pluripotent stem cell-derived organoid models, his lab's recent finding demonstrates that constitutively activated cytokine-STAT5 signaling can promote gut cancer stem cell migration to distant organs.
