Volunteer Opportunities at MetroHealth
COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics
Description: Provide non-clinical support during vaccine clinics held at various MetroHealth locations. Duties include assisting with wayfinding, providing wheelchair transport, assisting patients with completing forms, and wiping chairs in observation areas after patients and guests leave.
Volunteers Needed: Clinic schedules are typically announced to volunteers via email 5-7 days in advance. Hours are generally 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and volunteers sign up for 3-4 hour shifts.
Commitment Required: At least twice per month for 3-6 months

Mobile Food Pantry
Description: Deliver food to homes of MetroHealth patients using a contact-less delivery process. Volunteers must provide their own vehicle. Proof of vehicle insurance and a valid driver’s license are required.
Volunteers Needed: Deliveries take place on the third Tuesday (Cleveland, 44109 and 44102 ZIP codes) and fourth Friday (Parma) of the month. Food is picked up from MetroHealth Medical Center (Tuesday) or MetroHealth Parma Medical Center (Friday) around 8:30 a.m. Deliveries take about 2 hours.
Commitment Required: At least once per month for 6 months
Minimum Age: 18
Trauma Survivors Network
Description: Trained peer visitors who have survived a traumatic injury visit with newly injured patients and offer support. Volunteer visits are conducted by phone.
Volunteers Needed: Weekdays
Commitment Required: 6 months
Minimum Age: 18
Calls for HOPE
Description: Make weekly phone calls to patients in their homes to help combat loneliness and social isolation.

Patient and Family Advisor
Description: Patients and family members share critical insights on opportunities for improvement within The MetroHealth System. Staff and Patient and Family Advisors collaborate on projects centered around experience, safety, quality, process improvement and environmental design.
Volunteers Needed: Scheduled as needed for council meetings, committee work or speaking engagements
Commitment Required: Minimum 1 year
Minimum Age: 18
