At some point in their life, more than 40% of adults report a health problem or concern regarding sex.
Sexual health is a part of your overall health. At the MetroHealth Comprehensive Sexual Health Center—a collaboration between MetroHealth and Cleveland Sex & Intimacy Counseling—we diagnose, treat, educate and optimize the sexual health and wellness of every person. We are an LGBTQ+ affirming clinic.
We help people address issues with sexual function—whether that’s pain with sex, trouble with arousal, achieving orgasm or another problem. No matter if you’ve dealt with it your entire life or it’s something new you’re experiencing, our team will combine clinical medicine and counseling to help you have a healthy sex life.
Multidisciplinary Sexual Health
Not every person has the same sexual needs, challenges or desires. Our multidisciplinary team focuses on a broad range of sexual health concerns, including:

- Issues with arousal and desire
- Orgasm disorders and anorgasmia

The MetroHealth Comprehensive Sexual Health Center has several sexual medicine clinicians who experienced at discovering whether there are medical reasons behind your sexual concerns.
Through physical examinations, clinical tests and collaboration with other providers, we’ll get you the right care, which may include:

- Therapeutic techniques
- Surgical procedures

Pelvic floor disorders can cause pain, discomfort, bulges and other issues that impact your sex life.
The MetroHealth Comprehensive Sexual Health Center uses pelvic floor physical therapy to evaluate women for medical conditions and retrain pelvic muscles and nerves for a healthier sex life.

For more advanced treatment, we’ll work with our specialty women’s healthcare team to get you the care you need.
Sexual function, response and attitude are influenced by your mental health, as well as social and environmental factors, family, religion and relationship dynamics.
That’s a lot to untangle. But we’re here to help.
Through sex therapy provided in collaboration with Cleveland Sex & Intimacy Counseling, our sex therapists offer individualized counseling to address your concerns. Your counselor will work with you to improve communication, intimacy and sexual satisfaction within relationships.
