Live Your Best Life.

Many women—of all ages—experience symptoms like pain, leaking urine, feeling like they always have to urinate, or feeling like their bladder never empties. And, while issues like uterine fibroids, endometriosis, and other painful gynecological problems are less common, sometimes they aren’t taken seriously by patients and providers alike.

At the MetroHealth Center for Advanced Gynecology, we take you—and your symptoms—seriously. Our providers know you don’t have to live with symptoms of common and complex gynecological issues. So whether you visit us for a consultation, treatment or specialized surgery, we’ll help you live your best—and healthiest—life.

While your general women’s health provider is skilled at providing routine care, you may be experiencing issues that require more specialized treatment.

At the MetroHealth Center for Advanced Gynecology, we treat a range of symptoms:

  • Pelvic pain, including pain with urination
  • Urine leakage
  • Urgency, or feeling like you always have to urinate
  • Incomplete bladder emptying
  • Prolapse, or the feeling of a vaginal bulge or pressure
  • Fecal incontinence caused by prolapse or urgency
  • Heavy/painful periods or bleeding between periods
  • Pain with sex

Common symptoms like pain, bleeding and urine leakage can be the result of a number of concerns.

In your first visit, your provider will ask about:

  • Symptoms
  • Medical history
  • Sexual history

Sometimes, depending on your symptoms, your provider will perform a physical examination or order specific screenings to help diagnose your issues. Common screenings include:

  • Ultrasound
  • Urodynamic testing for bladder function
  • CT scan
  • Urinalysis

If screening shows an issue with your bladder or pelvic floor, you’ll be treated by a specialty doctor called a urogynecologist.

Urogynecologists are experts at treating women who experience pain and urinary issues like leakage, urgency, or uncomfortable bulges.

Half of all women—of every age—experience incontinence. And almost half of women over age 50 have pelvic prolapse. Don’t let shame or stigma hold you back from getting the help at MetroHealth.
