Chronic school absenteeism among children with asthma is multifactorial in etiology, increases risk for adverse outcomes, but is challenging to disrupt. This presentation will discuss the origins, evolution, and implications of the CTSC-funded BREATHE Study, which aimed to improve outcomes for elementary students with asthma by refining and implementing community-informed strategies to improve asthma care and coordination.
