About Me

Joined MetroHealth: 1991
Academic Affiliations: Assistant Professor, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine

I’m a board-certified OB/GYN and Assistant Professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. I’ve been part of the MetroHealth family since 1991, and I’ve spent my career caring for women through every stage of life.

Growing up, I watched my mother—a lifelong teacher—build deep relationships with families in our community. Her love for people and passion for teaching inspired me to follow a similar path, even though she gently nudged me away from the classroom. In medicine, I found my own way to connect, teach, and support others.

During my training, I discovered that caring for women felt like home. It’s where I belong, and I hope my patients feel the same way. My goal is to provide compassionate, thoughtful care that empowers and respects every individual I meet.

I would tell them that the doctor needs to listen better and understand chronic pain better. And if they have a seizure disorder that gets provoked by pain, they need to pay attention to that and not say it's not going to happen if an anxiety or anesthesia is happening. So I'd just like to tell them to be aware the doctor isn't very well versed or knowledgeable about pain disorder flare-ups or seizure flare-ups or any kind of flare-ups. And that she could learn and take things into consideration when doing examinations. And so she was pretty respectful and understanding in other ways. And for the most part, did not yell like the other doctor does.

I am going to say what I have told many, many people who are looking for a new OBGYN, that you don't get better than Paula Hendryx. I trust her with my life, my children. She is an amazing doctor and I would follow her to the ends of the earth. I think more doctors should be like her.
