About Me
I’m Dr. James Persky, and I’m proud to care for patients as a vascular surgeon at MetroHealth System in Cleveland, Ohio. I am board certified in both general surgery and vascular surgery, and I bring more than 30 years of experience to caring for people with vascular conditions.
I specialize in treating artery problems in the legs, using both catheter based procedures and open bypass surgery. I also have extensive experience treating vein conditions. I’ve built a strong vein care program to help patients at all stages of venous disease, and I work closely with each patient to find the treatment that fits their needs and lifestyle.
I have been honored to be named a “Top Doctor” by Cleveland Magazine for multiple years, which reflects the trust patients and colleagues place in my care.
Teaching is very important to me. I enjoy helping train the next generation of doctors, and I’ve been recognized for my dedication to education with faculty teaching awards in 2020 and 2021. Residents consistently rate me as one of the top teachers in the department. I also serve as site director for Kent State podiatric students.
Above all, I believe in taking time to listen, explain options clearly, and treat every patient with respect and compassion. Outside of work, I enjoy playing tennis with friends and family, traveling, and taking walks with my golden doodle.
