About Me

Joined MetroHealth: 2024
Academic Affiliations: Assistant Professor, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine

I chose Colorectal Surgery because of the breadth of disease and patients I can treat. I treat men, women, older and younger adults, cancer and benign diseases. I get to perform "big" cases and "small" cases. I do minimally invasive surgery and "maximally invasive" surgery. I get to care for lots of people in lots of ways.

I think what's most rewarding is that colorectal and anal cancer is preventable - and when caught early, they can be cured! I meet a lot of people who are scared and looking for answers and my goal is to make sure they feel safe and well-cared for.

I also care for very sensitive areas of the body and enjoy normalizing issues patients have that they fear are unique to them or "abnormal."

My favorite thing about my job is making people feel better - which usually means they are happier and healthier.

I like the provider very, very much. I just did not like the way the hospital ran things between me and my husband and my children. Many hospitals let their spouse or a child, grown child, stay with them while they're in the hospital. I feel that it's horrible that Metro General will not do that.

Dr. Adams and her team were all very friendly and informative. I felt comfortable and at ease throughout the appointment.

Dr. Adams took the time to explain it in a manner I could understand. She is also very easy to talk to. She and everyone I have encountered at Metro, looks at you (not at a computer) and has a conversation.

Dr Adam's not only beautiful but has some of the best bedside manner I have encountered yet. She goes the extra mile to explain everything. I never felt rushed. I understood everything she said. Also she is very funny.

I'm not sure Dr. Adams is human. I think she's an angel that landed at Metrohealth. Dr. Adams performed a difficult surgery and her surgical skill, honesty, and ability to relate to me on a personal level has made all the difference in my outcome.
