MetroHealth may send text (SMS) messages* to your cell phone about your health care, including:

  • Reminders and confirmations about upcoming visits.
  • Emergencies that could affect your appointments.
  • Notifications about medications.
  • Billing reminders.
  • Health education from your providers.
  • Invitations to complete surveys about your care.

* Message and data rates from your cell phone carrier may apply. Frequency may vary. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

You can choose what types of messages to receive. To change your communication preferences:

To opt in to (start new) texts:

  • Text “JOIN” to 85452

To opt out of texts:

  • Reply “STOP” only to the number associated with the type of text messages you no longer wish to receive. For example, you can stop texts about surveys, but continue to receive messages about your medications.
  • Or complete the online opt-out form

To opt in to (restart) texts:

  • Reply “START” to the text that you would like to start receiving again.

We may communicate with you by SMS message.

You may receive SMS (or “text”) messages from MetroHealth, including information related to visits, prescriptions, billing, and MyChart notifications and one-time passcode verification messages.

You can opt-out of text messages by replying to the message with “STOP”. Your opt-out request will generate one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed. You will no longer receive text messages from the number from which you opted out. If you want to resume receiving text messages, visit your MyChart account or reply to the text with  “HELP” for instructions.

If you are experiencing issues with the messaging program, you can reply with the keyword HELP for more assistance.  You can also get help by emailing MyChart@metrohealth.org or by calling MetroHealth at 216-778-8801.
