Endoscopic surgery is a minimally invasive surgical technique that offers several advantages to patients: smaller or hidden incisions, less pain, shorter hospital stays and recovery time and reduced scarring. During endoscopic surgery, a surgeon uses a flexible tube with a small video camera to guide the surgery and can make small incisions within the gastrointestinal tract.

Surgeons can see patients at either MetroHealth Main Campus or MetroHealth Parma Medical Center for first appointments and follow-up care.

Kevin El-Hayek, MD, has clinical expertise in Hiatal Hernia/Gastroesophageal Reflux Achalasia; Gastrointestinal Cancer; Gastroparesis; Pancreas, Liver, and Bile Duct Cancer; and Median Arcuate Ligament Syndrome (MALS) .
He performs the following procedures: Anti-reflux Surgery, Endoscopic Surgery, Gastrointestinal Surgery, Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery (Liver, Pancreas, Gallbladder) and Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery.
Dr. El-Hayek completed his General Surgery residency and Advanced Laparoscopy/Flexible Surgical Endoscopy and Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary fellowships at the Cleveland Clinic. An international expert in endoscopy and surgery, he is certified by the American Board of Surgery.
Amelia N. Dorsey, MD, has clinical expertise in Gastroparesis and General Surgery.
She performs the following procedures: General Surgery, Anti-reflux Surgery, Bariatric Surgery, Endoscopic Surgery, Hiatal Hernia Repair and Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery. She completed her General Surgery residency and fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. She is certified by the American Board of Surgery.
