Not every person needs the same care when they’re delivering a baby. At the MetroHealth Birthing Center, you’ll find a range of resources and amenities to fit your birthing goals.

It’s a day that you and your family will always remember: the birth of a child.

All of the planning and prenatal care has led to this moment—and it’s important to have the best experience possible. From in-room comforts to the peace of mind of knowing that state-of-the-art care for infants is just down the hall—in case it’s needed—the MetroHealth Birthing Center has everything you want and need.

So how do you select the right birthing environment?

The Right Provider

The right care team is essential to your birthing experience. At MetroHealth, we have four different types of providers ready to care for you from the moment you’re pregnant until you’re holding your bundle of joy—and oftentimes beyond.

Choosing from a certified nurse-midwife, an obstetrician or a family medicine physician allows you to select the approach to care that best meets your pregnancy goals. And, at MetroHealth, those providers are backed by our Maternal-Fetal Medicine program, which has been leading the way in treating high-risk pregnancies for more than three decades. Our providers are a team, so that means if, at any time you need or want a different type of care, we can adapt to fit your needs.

The Right Space

Comfort matters. With Cleveland’s newest rooms for families and babies, the MetroHealth Birthing Center ensures that your baby’s first moments are welcoming for the entire family.

In our 10 state-of-the-art labor and delivery rooms, you’ll enjoy calming, patient-controlled mood lighting and flexible delivery options, including tubs. Our 27 private patient rooms for post-partum care include private, spacious showers and comfortable furniture and pull-out beds for an overnight support guest.

If your baby needs specialized care after delivery, they won’t be far: our state-of-the-art Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is right down the hall and close to our labor and delivery rooms. The NICU has 37 private rooms with overnight accommodations in each room for families.

The Right Resources

No matter your needs, MetroHealth has the right resources to help you achieve the healthiest delivery.

We have the area’s most advanced wireless fetal monitoring system, allowing us to monitor your baby’s progress before birth.

And, because you want to be prepared, when you choose MetroHealth, you’re choosing the area’s leader in high-risk pregnancies and deliveries. That means that if any complications arise, you’re in the right place for advanced care.
