Scheduled Virtual Primary Care

Same-day Primary Care is best for unexpected needs – from sudden illnesses to minor injuries. Same-day appointments provide you with immediate access to primary care professionals who can address your concerns right away.

Scheduled Primary Care is perfect if you are looking to build a lasting relationship with a virtual primary care provider. A scheduled appointment allows for in-depth discussions about your overall health, preventive care, and the management of chronic conditions. 

Virtual care visits take place through video calls but can include phone calls and messaging with a provider over secure communication platforms, such as MyChart. 

In some cases, your virtual care provider may also use the following: 

Health Monitoring: Depending on individual conditions and health needs, you may benefit from the integration of devices and apps for monitoring vital signs, chronic conditions, and overall health. 

Health History Review: Providers may review medical history, discuss symptoms, and address preventive care and wellness goals. 

Care Plans: Personalized care plans may be discussed, covering treatment options, medication management, and lifestyle recommendations.

Most virtual visits are in-network for any health insurance company that has contracted with MetroHealth. At the time of the visit, you will be asked to enter your insurance information and will only be asked to pay for the co-pay portion of your visit, if applicable.  

If you do not have insurance, you can still be seen and will be asked to pay a fixed amount – not to exceed $65.

• Same-day access to a provider in real time, face-to-face via video visit
• For health concerns that can be addressed today but are not urgent

Scheduled Virtual Primary Care Visit

• Video consultation and secure messaging
• Scheduled non-urgent primary care
• For those who prefer scheduled appointments, or recurring appointments with the same provider.

Our virtual care providers can be a key part of your ongoing medical care team. 

All of the information from your virtual care visit will be recorded in your Epic MyChart and medical record for easy access by you and your care team at MetroHealth.  

Your virtual care provider will follow up after your visit, as needed. The next time you need a visit, you can select them within MyChart or from the MetroHealth provider directory to continue your care relationship. 

All of the care you receive from your virtual care provider is coordinated with other care team members at MetroHealth. 

You will always be directed to the most appropriate type of care for your specific needs. The virtual visit is simply a more convenient way for you to start your care.
