Virtual Urgent Care FAQs

Ovatient’s team of virtual primary care specialists provide only virtual care. This means they are specifically trained to see people virtually and are skilled in the use of the tools and practices associated with providing sound medical care online.

This involves a focus on virtual consultations, digital health monitoring, and remote patient engagement.

Meet our team of virtual care providers.

Most virtual visits are in-network for any health insurance company that has contracted with MetroHealth. At the time of the visit, you will be asked to enter your insurance information and will only be asked to pay for the co-pay portion of your visit, if applicable.

If you do not have insurance, you can still be seen and will be asked to pay a fixed amount – not to exceed $65

Other Resources

All the care you receive from your virtual care provider is coordinated with other care team members at MetroHealth.

If it is determined you need to be seen in person, you will always be directed to the most appropriate type of care for your specific needs.

All of the information from your virtual urgent care visit will be recorded in your Epic MyChart account for easy access by you or your regular care provider.

Your regular provider will receive notes on all care you receive during your Virtual Urgent Care visit.

You can also schedule a Same Day Primary Care visit with one of our virtual care providers.

We also offer the option of a scheduled Virtual Primary Care visit if it is more convenient to schedule your virtual visit on another day that is more convenient to you.

Virtual care visits take place through video calls but can include phone calls and messaging with a provider over secure communication platforms, such as MyChart.

In some cases, your virtual care provider may also use the following:

Health Monitoring: Depending on individual conditions and health needs, you may benefit from the integration of devices and apps for monitoring vital signs, chronic conditions, and overall health.

Health History Review: Providers may review medical history, discuss symptoms, and address preventive care and wellness goals.

Care Plans: Personalized care plans may be discussed, covering treatment options, medication management, and lifestyle recommendations.

MetroHealth has partnered with Ovatient to provide virtual care services for its patients.

Ovatient is a virtual-first health care company that puts a person – not just a patient – at the center of how they receive care and improve their health. Ovatient's team of dedicated virtual providers and care team members work closely with MetroHealth’s care team to provide you coordinated and convenient care.
