SUMMARY

Dr. Ther Aung is an environmental health scientist whose research intersects energy transitions, human health, and climate change. She has investigated co-benefits of interventions, such as improved cookstoves, social cash transfers, etc., on climate, health, energy poverty, and time use. Trained as an exposure scientist, she has designed and implemented indoor and outdoor environmental monitoring to study exposures to contaminants, including particulate matter, gases, and nicotine/tobacco. At MetroHealth, she is interested in examining household energy insecurity in the context of extreme weather and temperature events, and its impact on health among children, elderly, and population living with chronic illnesses.
