Course Description

This conference will combine didactic and hands-on simulation to enhance the  participant’s knowledge and management of complications associated with maternal cardiopulmonary disease. The course will focus on congenital and acquired maternal disease diagnosis and management as well as fetal treatment. 

Local and national leaders in maternal cardiopulmonary health will discuss the current state of affairs and how to treatthe antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients with known disease as well as management of acute obstetric emergencies. 

The simulation portion of the day will provide the opportunity to apply the skills to managing patients from the office to the labor and delivery setting.

Objectives

• Describe the most common maternal cardiopulmonary disease presentations.
• Review the healthcare interventions for both congenital and acquired maternal cardiac disease and fetal arrhythmias.
• Demonstrate tools for the acute management of cardiopulmonary maternal emergencies.
