 Networked Neuroprosthesis (NNP)

The Networked Neuroprosthesis (NNP) is a modular, implantable neuroprosthesis capable of electrical stimulation and myoelectric signal recording. This system provides the platform for multiple clinical applications in SCI, stroke, and other disabilities. The first version of the NNP is now being implanted clinically for hand and trunk function. We have recently begun the development of version 2.0 of the NNP. The new version will include enhanced powering options and expanded sensor capabilities. The NNP has the capacity to incorporate multiple functions, including hand, trunk, respiratory, bowel and bladder, and nerve blocking for treating spasticity.
