About Me
Dr. Tarabichi’s interests include designing and implementing electronic health record (EHR)-based strategies to promote precision population health. He partakes in in the implementation and validation of EHR-based predictive models such as the 30-day unplanned readmission model and the sepsis early warning system. As the Associate Director of Clinical Informatics for the Medical Subspecialties, Dr. Tarabichi has worked on numerous operational projects tackling chronic disease management, including improving and risk stratifying access to specialist care. As the Director of Clinical Informatics for Research Support, he educates providers on health data literacy and supports local research, clinical applications and quality improvement initiatives that rely on informatics resources. In his role as Medical Director of the Virtual Care Enterprise, he leads the architecting of an Epic based multi-institution virtual care solution (Ovatient).

Selected Recent Projects
OMOP data model implementation: Propping up and supporting an ETL process from our Clarity database to a widely used standardized format for research and reporting.
COPD QI initiative (PREVAIL): A pharmacist driven QI intervention that leverages electronic phenotyping form EHR data to capture patients with COPD who could benefit from further optimizations as well as patients who may be underdiagnosed (i.e. missed).
Sepsis CDS: Following our prior success with a strategic predictive-model driven intervention with a locally trained model coupled with more nuanced clinical decision support system deployment.
Ovatient: Architecting an integrated Epic based multi-institution virtual care solution. This involves a community connect model, cross country health information exchange, unique HL7 integrations and workflow mapping and engineering.
