About Me
Joseph K. Daprano, MD is a primary care physician in internal medicine-pediatrics at the MetroHealth J. Glen Smith Health Center. He is a graduate of the Albany Medical Center internal medicine residency program and the MetroHealth pediatrics residency program. His career has focused on providing high quality care to patients in the inner city of Cleveland and in multiple clinic sites internationally. He is passionate about teaching medical students and residents and encouraging them to consider primary care for underserved populations as a career path. He has helped implement quality improvement programs throughout The MetroHealth System and has a focused interest in health literacy. His most recent international work has been centered on training community health workers in Nicaragua in the skills needed to complete in-home developmental assessments for the less than 5-year-old population in communities surrounding Managua. He has also been active in bringing the community health worker model to MetroHealth.
