About Me
I originally planned to become an engineer, but after taking an EMT course, I discovered my true passion was Emergency Medicine. That experience changed my path, and I went on to earn my medical degree from the University of North Carolina in 2001. I completed my residency in Emergency Medicine right here in Cleveland through the MetroHealth/Cleveland Clinic/Case Western Reserve University program.
Since 2004, I’ve been part of the MetroHealth Emergency Medicine team. I lead our Emergency Medical Services Division and help train future EMS specialists through our fellowship program. I also serve as a flight physician with Metro Life Flight, providing critical care in the air—and I’ve even worked as a shipboard physician with Lindblad Expeditions and National Geographic since 2016.
I was among the first physicians in the country to be board certified in Emergency Medical Services. My academic interests include trauma systems, air and ground transport, prehospital blood transfusions, and caring for patients in crisis.
Whether I’m in the ER, on a helicopter, or teaching the next generation of emergency physicians, my goal is always the same: to deliver fast, compassionate care when it matters most.
