About Me
I am a breast cancer surgeon who is proud to care for patients here in Northeast Ohio. I was born and raised in Akron, and it means a lot to me to serve the community I call home.
I earned my college degree from Kent State University and my medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. As an osteopathic doctor, I was trained to care for the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—not just the illness.
I chose surgery because I wanted to make a direct difference in my patients’ lives. Being able to remove cancer and help patients heal is very meaningful to me. I was drawn to breast surgery through personal experiences with friends and family, along with my strong commitment to women’s health. I have special training in oncoplastic breast surgery and hidden‑scar techniques. These approaches focus on treating breast disease safely while also caring about appearance and recovery.
As your doctor and neighbor, I want you to feel heard, respected, and supported. I believe in clear communication, showing compassion, being on time, and creating treatment plans based on trusted medical guidelines.
Teaching future doctors is also important to me. You may see medical students or surgical residents working with me in the clinic or operating room. I also help support my fellow healthcare workers by serving as a wellness ambassador, bringing people together through social and wellness activities.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, caring for my two cats and dog, reading for fun, hiking, attending shows at Playhouse Square, traveling, and crafting.
My research focuses on topics that directly affect my patients and their daily lives. This type of work is often called quality‑of‑life research. I am especially interested in healthcare fairness, the ways life circumstances can affect health, and issues related to menopause and sexual health during and after cancer treatment.
Teaching is also very important to me. I enjoy working with medical students and surgical residents as they train to become doctors and surgeons. Helping educate and support the next generation of physicians is one of my passions.
