About Me

Joined MetroHealth: 2001
Title(s): Designated Institutional Official Chair
Academic Affiliations: Professor, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine

I’ve been a pediatrician for over 40 years, and I’m board-certified in the United States, the United Kingdom, and India. My career has taken me across the globe, giving me a deep appreciation for diverse cultures and a broad perspective on caring for children and families.

Since joining MetroHealth in 2001, I’ve been committed to providing compassionate, culturally sensitive care. I speak several languages—including Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, and Urdu—which helps me connect with families from many backgrounds. I also serve as a Professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, where I mentor and guide future pediatricians.

My approach to care is rooted in respect, empathy, and lifelong learning. I believe every child deserves thoughtful, personalized attention—and every family deserves to feel supported throughout their healthcare journey.

Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award

This is an award given to one faculty member of the School of Medicine, Case Western Reserve University annually by The Arnold P. Gold Foundation. The winner is invited into the Gold Humanism Honor Society in recognition of consistently demonstrating compassion and empathy, acting as a role model for professional behavior, showing respect to all, demonstrating cultural sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds, displaying effective communication and listening skills, and clinical excellence.

Parker J. Palmer Courage to Lead Award

A prestigious award from ACGME to only three out of 833 Designated Institutional Officials (DIO) nationally who have demonstrated excellence in overseeing Graduate Medical Education programs at their Sponsoring Institutions. Each ACGME-accredited institution has only one DIO, who has complete authority and responsibility for all graduate medical education (GME) programs. This is the highest honor that a DIO can receive nationally. A national committee selects award recipients based on their overall contribution to education.

Dr Ghori has received nearly 25 awards during his tenure at MetroHealth.

Dr. Ghori has been taking care of my son since he was 2 years old and now my son is college bound. That says a lot about Dr. Ghori's clinical care and rapport with my son. Dr. Ghori always keeps us updated about recent guidelines and he has always given exceptional and above and beyond care to my son. Thanks!
