We know your heart.
Noninvasive cardiology specializes in diagnosing—and sometimes treating—heart problems without surgery. Instead, through highly-advanced technology, MetroHealth’s noninvasive cardiology team can produce images of your heart that diagnose heart issues and monitor the impact of medication and other treatment. At MetroHealth, every person in our community has access to these advanced and lifesaving screening techniques.
Noninvasive cardiologists are a part of a comprehensive heart and vascular team at MetroHealth.
That means, if you’re experiencing symptoms that may mean you have a heart issue, a noninvasive cardiologist is often one of the first providers you’ll see to diagnose your issue.
Noninvasive cardiologists can diagnose:
- Heart disease
- Cardiomyopathy
- Atherosclerosis
- Issues with your heart’s electrical system, including A-Fib and other abnormal heartbeat disorders
- Structural issues with your heart, valves, chambers and arteries
- Blood clots
- Pulmonary embolism
- Arterial disease
- Deep vein thrombosis
- Cardiac amlyodiosis
- Ischemia
- Sarcoidosis
- Strokes of unknown origin
- Cardiac tumors
And, as you progress in your treatment with other members of our heart and vascular team, noninvasive cardiologists can run tests and produce images to help guide next steps.
With the region’s best screening technology available, MetroHealth noninvasive cardiologists have a range of screening options available to diagnose and monitor the treatment of heart issues.

Some of the screenings we offer include:
-
Echocardiography to tell us how your heart is pumping blood and if there’s a structural issue
-
CT scans to detect heart disease or plaque buildup in your arteries
-
Stress tests—whether exercise or nuclear—to show on echocardiograms or MRIs how your heart is working
-
MRI that helps diagnose a range of heart issues
-
Coronary calcium scoring to measure the amount of calcium deposits in your arteries and detect coronary artery disease before it causes major issues
We also help manage heart issues that don’t yet need further treatment. Often, our noninvasive cardiologists provide medication to prevent the progression of a heart disorder to prevent more invasive treatment.

We treat:
-
Basic arrythmias: For abnormal heart rhythm disorders like A-Fib and ventricular tachycardia, we’ll start treatment with prescription medication and monitor your progress to see if you need to be seen by an electrophysiologist for more advanced treatment.
-
Valvular heart disease: For issues with your heart’s valves, we’ll assess the problem and guide our surgical team on how best to treat your issue.
-
Congestive heart failure: Noninvasive cardiologists often work as a team with heart failure specialists to manage congestive heart failure.
-
Cardiomyopathies, including hypertrophic cardiomyopathy: We’ll assess the thickening of your heart and prescribe medication to lower your blood pressure.
If you require further treatment like a device or surgery, your noninvasive cardiologist will be important to the continued management of your heart issue.
Noninvasive cardiologists also play a key role in monitoring and educating patients after a cardiovascular event like a heart attack. We work in conjunction with exercise physiologists to help you rehabilitate.
