Cardiac Rehab

A cardiac event can be a shock to you or someone you love. And, if you’ve experienced a heart attack, bypass surgery, vascular disease, valve replacement or heart failure, you want to do what you can to lead a more heart-healthy life—and avoid issues in the future.

We’re here to help.

The team at the MetroHealth Cardiac Rehab Clinic is eager to help you make lifestyle changes that help your heart. Through a 12-week program, you’ll work with an exercise physiologist to develop an exercise program, learn diet and nutrition tips from a MetroHealth dietitian, and form a community with other Cardiac Rehab patients. It’s a holistic approach to help you develop a healthy lifestyle after a cardiac event.

In The Hospital

While you’re recovering, a nurse will visit your hospital room to assess your future cardiac risk, explain your treatment schedule and discuss Cardiac Rehab.

Starting Out

You’ll meet with an exercise physiologist during your first Cardiac Rehab appointment to discuss the program and get you familiar with the facility.

Getting Healthy

You’ll have three one-hour sessions for 12 weeks. Our exercise physiologist helps you work towards your target heart rate and increase your heart’s workload.
