Internship Projects and Departments

Summer interns will be leading core projects and will gain knowledge from working with managers at various levels of the health care system. At the conclusion of the internship, interns are expected to present to departmental and senior leadership summarizing their project findings.

Project Examples

  • Support workflow data collection, analysis, and documentation to improve hospital throughput by identifying barriers and potential solutions for more efficient patient flow
  • Develop comprehensive process mapping for various clinical and operational processes
  • Utilize planning, testing, evaluation, and reporting tools to evaluate process efficiencies to provide recommendations and track sustainability
  • Identify business needs and build project management skills in various activation projects for the new hospital 
  • Develop social media presence using posts, campaigns, content calendars, and performance reports
  • New hospital IT implementation involving testing of applications and hardware
  • Assist in developing education for new hospital processes
  • Complete a time study to analyze the process of an area
  • Development of training and orientation for various operational departments in preparation for moving to the new hospital
  • Assess clinical workflow delays to identify and track solutions with the operations team using process improvement, Lean Six Sigma tools
  • Project management support for multiple departmental and site activation projects
