- Doing Business with MetroHealth
Our Supplier Equity strategy supports our commitment to care for the communities we serve.
Reaching out to organizations that meet and support supplier diversity remains a proactive business process at MetroHealth.
This approach allows us to leverage our purchasing to drive economic inclusion for qualified diverse suppliers. We strive to increase participation in MetroHealth’s procurement opportunities for businesses that are 51 percent owned and operated by U.S. citizens within the United States.
To effectively deliver an integrated model of world class care, MetroHealth engages business partners, suppliers and vendors – both large and small – that complement our strategy.
The Supplier Equity Department has established MetroHealth’s 1st Supplier Equity Council. The Supplier Equity Council will comprise of internal and external professionals in the supplier diversity community. The purpose of the council is to build community relationships, support our supplier equity initiatives and identify best practices.
This Council is essential to the growth and improvement of MetroHealth’s Supplier Equity Program. Our mission is to create an inclusive procurement process and increase cost savings for the organization. When we intentionally seek to foster economic growth in our community, it helps to address the underlying factors affecting health disparities and aligns with MetroHealth’s STAR IQ values.
As a public hospital system which has diverse patient, workforce and community stakeholders, MetroHealth has a compelling interest in providing equal contracting opportunities to a diverse range of businesses and persons.
Accordingly, MetroHealth will actively encourage and solicit the participation of diverse suppliers in its various contracting opportunities.
MetroHealth contracting opportunities include those for which public bidding requirements apply and consulting services/projects for which The MetroHealth System Board of Trustees approval is required. All potential suppliers who are able to provide high-quality, cost competitive products and services will be considered regardless of characteristics including race, color, religion, gender, age, or national origin.
The MetroHealth Supplier Diversity Policy has been adopted, not as a response to outside regulatory agencies or mandatory requirements, but as an effort to strengthen ties with the communities in which MetroHealth does business. All potential suppliers are invited to register their business, including their product, commodity or service, with The MetroHealth System, by using the link below.
