COVID-19: Masking policy, vaccinations, testing and general information. Learn more
Monkeypox is an infection caused by a virus. Many countries around the world, including the United States, are reporting increased numbers of cases this year.
The virus spreads mostly through close, personal, contact with someone who has monkeypox. Usually the contact is often skin-to-skin contact with an infected person. It is possible, but less likely, to spread the virus by touching items used by a person with monkeypox.
Monkeypox causes a rash that can appear on any part of the body. Some people also experience fevers, headaches, muscle aches, and swollen glands.

Depending on your symptoms, the nurse may schedule you for a visit to get tested. When you come for a visit, please wear a face mask and cover your rash.
Antiviral medications may be recommended for certain people with a positive test for monkeypox, especially those with severe illness or who are at risk for severe illness.
