Advanced Neuro-Interventional Radiology Applications for Stroke

The event will focus on treatment planning principles utilized in neuro-interventional radiology for therapy of stroke, carotid stenosis and intracranial aneurysms; the role of imaging in selection of acute stroke intervention; and a review in stroke diagnosis and treatment.
This program is designed for Emergency Medicine physicians, Neurologists, Neurosurgeons, Vascular surgeons, and Radiologists, as well as specialized nursing professionals (APN’s, stroke program coordinators, critical care and neuroscience nurses) who treat patients with acute stroke, carotid stenosis, and aneurysms.
At the conclusion of the CME, attendees will tour the MetroHealth Interventional Radiology Suite.
- Examine intracranial treatment algorithms for stroke and intracranial aneurysm
- Describe which patient is appropriate for transfer to a hospital with advance stroke treatment options
- Explain how physicians decide which treatment options would best benefit the comprehensive stroke patient
