With the completion of construction in December 2012, The MetroHealth Simulation Center offers an exterior entrance/driveway, 2 high acuity style bays, 1 clinical exam room, control room, 1 multi-purpose room, a conference room, and beautiful lobby. The simulation center uses the most advanced technology available to record, observe and review simulations. Each of the 3 simulation rooms is equipped with 2 cameras, 2 microphones, one-way glass and headphones. B-Line simulation management system allows the center to record 2 camera angles and 2 monitor feeds. The monitor feeds can include patient monitor, PACS images, electronic medical record charting or other requested documents. These recordings can be stored and/ or used for immediate playback of simulations. The system is also used for scheduling of programs and learner tracking and evaluations.
The MetroHealth Simulation Center has a variety of simulators and task trainers available for use including: 2- high fidelity full body simulators, 1- high fidelity 13 month old baby, 1 high fidelity 8 week old baby, 1 PROMPT birthing simulator, 2 Newborn Annie task trainers, 2 adult airway heads, 1 child airway head, 2 neonatal airway heads, lumbar puncture for adults and infant, chest tube task trainer, Ultrasound capable Blue Phantom trainers to simulate IJ & SC central lines, Femoral central lines PICC line, ABG/ A-Line, paracentesis, and thoracentesis.
