In anatomic pathology, training is offered in tissue diagnosis (autopsy and surgical specimens), cytopathology, cytogenetics, dermatopathology, electron microscopy, molecular pathology, immunopathology, immunocytochemistry, neuropathology, and perinatal pathology. Appropriate training is also provided in forensic pathology and toxicology.

The clinical pathology division offers training in clinical chemistry, hematopathology, (including gene molecular testing and flow cytometry), laboratory immunology (serology and cellular immunology), microbiology, and transfusion medicine. Residents participate in the teaching of medical students from Case Western Reserve Medical School. Fellowships are also available in surgical pathology and cytopathology.
