MetroHealth and CareSource enrolling 600 kids in obesity management and prevention program
Dr. Remma Gulati was featured Monday in The Cleveland Plain Dealer's online edition
, where she discussed MetroHealth's exciting new partnership with CareSource to combat childhood obesity
Up to 600 CareSource-insured children will be enrolled in a program that will include fitness, nutrition, cooking and gardening classes to establish healthy lifestyle habits. These classes aren't exactly new, according to Dr. Gulati, Pediatric Gastroenterologist and Medical Director of MetroHealth’s Pediatric and Adolescent Obesity Medical Care and Wellness Program. They will now be complemented by behavioral therapy, however, including motivational classes.
The article also noted that the program will be open not only to overweight and obese children, but to their family members as well.
“This is going to be a very family-oriented program,” Gulati told The Plain Dealer
