About MetroHealth Buckeye Health Center
MetroHealth Buckeye Health Center opened March 21, 2005. The 25,000-square-foot site is located adjacent to Buckeye Plaza and provides primary medical care in adult medicine (internal medicine), pediatrics, and obstetrics and gynecology.
With the opening of the MetroHealth Buckeye Health Center, the facility established a chronic disease management program supported by a $10 million grant from the Saint Luke’s Foundation.
Buckeye Health Center's specially developed programs in the following areas focus on conditions more prevalent in the community:
- Obesity and weight management
- Senior health
- Smoking cessation
The Saint Luke’s/MetroHealth collaboration offers the opportunity to significantly change both the physical and economic health of the community served by the Buckeye Health Center. By providing services directly to the neighborhood — supported by community outreach initiatives with schools, libraries, and churches — this program has the potential to serve as a national role model in the successful management, treatment, and prevention of chronic diseases.
Aside from the grant, MetroHealth Buckeye also offers an array of specialties, including cardiology, nephrology, pulmonary, podiatry, gastroenterology, infectious disease, geriatrics, and optometry. An on-site outpatient pharmacy, along with medical laboratory, radiology (including mammography), nutrition services, behavioral health and medicine, and WIC (Women, Infants, and Children program) further ensure convenient access to quality health care.
The MetroHealth Buckeye Health Center offers comprehensive health care services. Click on the links below to read about each practice.
In addition to our primary medical specialties, we offer the following services on-site:
- Radiology, including mammography
- Laboratory testing
- Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program — provides nutritional services to eligible women and their children
- Specialty services including Psychiatry, Optometry, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Geriatrics, Infectious Disease, Nephrology, Podiatry, and Pulmonary
- Nutrition services
Closing the Gap
Closing the Gap is a collaborative effort between the St. Luke's Foundation, the Buckeye community and the MetroHealth Buckeye Health Center.
We help adults and kids lead healthier lives and close the gap on healthcare differences in their neighborhoods. With generous funding from the Saint Luke's Foundation, our doctors and nurses have put together programs to help you win the battle again the most common, yet harmful, diseases and illnesses in our community.
