Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Why Choose a Med-Peds Physician

Choosing a Med-Peds specialist provides the best of both worlds: Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Med-Peds physicians are trained in both Internal Medicine (Adult Medicine) and also in the care of children and infants (Pediatrics). With dual specialties in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, physicians are uniquely qualified to care for every age group, which means your entire family can be treated in the same place at the same time. In addition, MetroHealth Med-Peds physicians are highly trained in preventative medicine and health, including disease management of both children and adults.

Like other specialists, Med-Peds physicians complete additional training after medical school during their internship and residencies. During the four years of a Med-Peds residency and internship, Med-Peds physicians meet the training requirements of both the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics.

If you are looking for a Med-Peds physician, the MetroHealth Line can refer you to one at the main MetroHealth Medical Center or to one right in your neighborhood. Call 216-778-7878 (toll-free: 1-800-332-4060; TDD# 778-8262) 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
