Objectives of Clinical Years
EM-1
- Focus on acquiring skills and sound knowledge base
- Gain broad exposure to principles and practice of emergency medicine
- Receive instruction by attending physicians in the Emergency Department
EM-2
- Focus on critically ill and injured patients in the Emergency Department
- Focus on development of critical care and life-saving skills on off-service rotations
EM-3
- Focus on issues unique to emergency medicine
- Directly manage critically ill and/or injured patients
- Learn direction of patient flow in the Emergency Department
Resources
- More than 35 faculty trained and board-certified in emergency medicine, representing programs from all over the USA
- Among our faculty: past-presidents of ABEM, SAEM, and Ohio ACEP, members of the Boards of Directors of SAEM, EMRA, EMRA-MSC, and Ohio ACEP, ABEM board member, item writers and oral examiners, and members and chairs of RRC in EM, numerous ACEP, CORD and SAEM committees
- Active research program involving animal and clinical studies and, with research nurses at both MetroHealth and CCF
