Tuberculosis Clinic
The Tuberculosis Clinic houses the Cuyahoga County Tuberculosis Program, which is the designated clinic for the reporting, treatment, and investigation of all tuberculosis cases in Cuyahoga County. We provide physician evaluation, treatment, and nurse case management to all residents of Cuyahoga County diagnosed with tuberculosis. Medications are provided to all patients regardless of ability to pay as required by the Ohio Revised Code. Tuberculosis patients received directly observed therapy from our outreach staff as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization.
The Tuberculosis Clinic offers tuberculosis skin testing, chest x-rays, and treatment of latent tuberculosis infection to anyone requesting these services. Health care coverage is requested of all. Cuyahoga County residents receive these services with no out of pocket expense. These services are typically needed by health care workers, teachers, day care providers, and immigrants.
In addition to tuberculosis, our physicians have expertise in the treatment of other mycobacterial infections. We provide diagnostic testing and treatment for Mycobacterium Avium, Mycobacterium Kansasii and other non-tuberculous mycobacterial disease.
