The MetroHealth Rehabilitation Institute of Ohio Application Procedure

Applications are only accepted through ERAS, the Electronic Residency Application Service (www.aamc.org/eras). Applications are accepted beginning September 1 through December 23 for a residency position that begins the following year.

We require a minimum of three letters of recommendation. We expect at least one of those letters to be from a physiatrist. Step one and two of the USMLE or COMLEX are required.

A complete application includes: the ERAS application, CV, personal statement, three letters of recommendation, dean's letter, medical school transcripts, ECFMG, and USMLE, or COMLEX step one and two scores.

We interview on Mondays and Fridays beginning mid-October and ending mid-January. Interviews are by invitation only. Invitations are sent out via e-mail.

The interview day begins with an orientation discussion with our program coordinator and chief resident, followed by a tour of MetroHealth, interviews with the PD and selected faculty, and lunch with our residents. The interview day ends by mid-afternoon.
