Teamwork is Key

From the outset of treatment at the MetroHealth Rehabilitation Institute of Ohio, each patient benefits from the combined expertise of a multidisciplinary care team selected especially for the individual.  The team is led by a physician board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and includes rehabilitation nursing and case management as well as physical and occupational therapy.  Depending on the patient's needs, the team may also include a rehabilitation psychologist, speech-language pathologist, social worker, vocational counselor, recreation therapist, or other specialists.  In addition, because the MetroHealth Rehabilitation Institute of Ohio is located within a major academic Level I Trauma Center, a full complement of specialty services is always readily available.

We also work closely with community agencies and social service organizations.  With the whole patient in mind, we support and encourage each individual's use of appropriate community resources for education, leisure, and work-related activities.
