MetroHealth’s Center for Advanced Gynecology provides comprehensive care and innovative treatments from the most experienced team in Northeast Ohio. Leaders in Minimally Invasive and Innovative Treatment Options for Women

MetroHealth’s Center for Advanced Gynecology provides comprehensive care and innovative treatments from the most experienced team in Northeast Ohio. Our physicians are nationally recognized for developing new treatments and training other doctors around the country.

In fact, MetroHealth was the first hospital in the Midwest to offer single-incision laparoscopic hysterectomies.

Less Complicated, Less Painful

Our bladder treatments can ensure that you don’t have to depend on Depends forever. And wouldn’t you prefer to have a hysterectomy through a single, tiny hole in the belly button that has you back on your feet within days? You wouldn't be alone; hundreds of women have turned to us for that procedure.

Though a woman’s body is complicated and so much can happen to the pelvic floor or the muscles, ligaments, connective tissue, and nerves the help support and control the rectum, uterus, vagina, and bladder, our expertise offers you confidence.

Sensitive Care for Sensitive Issues

The Center for Advanced Gynecology is devoted to treating and correcting urogynecological conditions that affect many women but aren’t always talked about:

  • Loss of bladder or bowel control, including embarrassing leakage
  • Pelvic prolapse, which is the dropping of the uterus, bladder, vagina, or rectum
  • Difficulty urinating or moving bowels
  • Pelvic or bladder pain, including painful sexual intercourse
  • Frequent need to go to the bathroom, “urge” incontinence or “overactive” bladder

Minimally Invasive Procedures

Many issues can be resolved with medications, targeted exercises, dietary changes or simple treatments that include biofeedback or electrical stimulation. When surgery is necessary, options often include outpatient minimally invasive procedures, also known as laparoscopy, that allow for faster recovery with less pain and scarring than traditional surgery.

Minimally invasive surgery is a popular option for many gynecologic issues, from hysterectomies to incontinence.
