Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at MetroHealth Medical Center is a Level III nursery with 49 patient beds. The NICU is designed to care for critically ill infants requiring medical and surgical care. We service MetroHealth patients and the community through air and ground transport.
The NICU provides optimal care based on professional standards which are holistic in focus and reflect the collaboration of the patient, the family, and the health care team.
The NICU operates in accord with MetroHealth’s philosophy, goals, and the hospital mission statement. The care provided in the NICU is an encounter between critically ill infants, parents, and families who seek health care assistance for episodic, chronic, and/or terminal health care needs. The health care team provides services within a climate conducive to achievement and maintenance of the highest level of health possible for our infants and their families.
We have provided care to thousands of fragile infants and their families for over 30 years.
