Gregory Nemunaitis, MD, Principal Investigator
Dr. Nemunaitis has served as Director of Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Rehabilitation at MetroHealth Medical Center since 2002.  Prior to that he was the SCI Rehabilitation Director at the Medical College of Ohio.  Dr. Nemunaitis is responsible for starting the Northeast Ohio Chapter of the National Spinal Cord Injury Association and an AA program for individuals with disabilities at MetroHealth.  He has received numerous awards recognizing his commitment to his patients and to the education of residents.  His research interests focus on SCI health and wellness, assistive technology, and Functional Electrical Stimulation.

Mary Joan Roach, PhD, Project Coordinator
Dr. Roach received her PhD in urban sociology from the University of Akron.  She served as the Project Manager for NORSCIS, when it was a Model SCI System from 1995-2000.  She has been involved in the planning of the yearly SCI Forum at MetroHealth since its inception 15 years ago.  The focus of her research has been on developing scientific means through which social issues can be studied and quantified in the service setting.  Dr. Roach is on faculty of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.  She also has an appointment in the Center for Health Research and Policy at MetroHealth Medical Center.

Ron Triolo, PhD, Site Specific Project Director
Dr. Triolo is a Tenured Associate Professor in the Departments of Orthopaedics and Biomedical Engineering at Case Western Reserve University and on the Bioscientific Staff in the Department of Orthopaedics at MetroHealth Medical Center.  He received his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering at Villanova and his masters and PhD in Biomedical Engineering at Drexel University.  Dr. Triolo has 30 peer-reviewed publications in his field and his interest focuses on clinical applications of electrical stimulation after spinal cord injury.

Jen Nagy, MPT, Project Manager
Jen received her Master of Physical Therapy Degree from Marquette University.  Her interest in physical therapy is in working with patients with spinal cord injuries.  She has worked in spinal cord injury rehabilitation at MetroHealth Medical Center, Virginia Commonwealth University, and the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago.  She also enjoys being involved with quad rugby and the National Veteran's Wheelchair Games as a classifier.

Erna Savage, Database Manager
Erna served as the Database Manager for NORSCIS, when it was a Model SCI System, from 1995-2000.  In addition to working for NORSCIS again, she manages the database and collects data for a study on the MICU at MetroHealth.

Amy Winslow, MPT
Amy received her Master of Physical Therapy Degree from Ohio University.  She worked with individuals with spinal cord injuries for four years at the Courage Center in Minnesota until she joined MetroHealth in May of 2007.  She was a clinical faculty member at the College of St. Katherine and the Universtiy of Minnesota for their physical therapy doctorate programs in the area of spinal cord injuries.  Amy is interested in starting a quad rugby team in Cleveland.
