| |
The Northeast Ohio Regional Spinal Cord Injury System (NORSCIS), at MetroHealth Rehabilitation Institute of Ohio, is proud to be one of 14 acute rehabilitation centers in the country named to be a Model Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) System of Care.
The Model Spinal Cord Injury System program, sponsored by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research, Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services, US Department of Education, provides assistance to establish innovative projects for the delivery, demonstration, and evaluation of comprehensive medical, vocational, and other rehabilitation services to meet the needs of individuals with spinal cord injury.
SCI Model System Centers across the United States work together to demonstrate improved care, maintain a national database, participate in independent and collaborative research, and provide continuing education relating to spinal cord injury.
The Model Systems Knowledge Translation Center is a national center that works to put research into practice. Link to the SCI Model Systems Research Publications Database.
