Patient Information
Patient Information provides general information about patients’ conditions, phone extensions, mailing addresses, visiting hours, and any visiting restrictions. Call 216-778-4141 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Your privacy is important to us. If you do not want your condition or phone number given to callers, tell your nurse.
Visiting Guidelines
Your visitors are welcome and can provide support to help you in your recovery. Here is some information for your guests:
General Hospital Visiting Hours: 10 a.m.–8:30 p.m.
Some intensive care units and other patient care areas have different visiting hours. Call Patient Information at 216-778-4141 from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. for visiting times in these units.
- Staying overnight is not normally permitted; permission will be granted in special situations only.
- No more than two visitors at a time, please.
- Friends or family members who have colds or other contagious illnesses should limit or avoid visiting.
- Visitors can bring food to patients, but need to first check with the nurse or doctor.
- Please check with your nurse regarding guidelines for visitors younger than 16.
- Members of the health care team may restrict visiting privileges if visitors display behaviors that are unsafe or disruptive to patient care.
- For health reasons, intensive care units do not accept flowers for patients.
Parking
Convenient parking is available on the upper level of the hospital parking garage located by the Inpatient Towers entrance. Weekly rate visitor passes can be purchased by calling the Parking Facilities Office at 216-778-4612.
Dining
Several dining options are available to your visitors:
MetroHealth Atrium Grille, the hospital's main dining room, offers traditional home-style meals, pizza, sandwiches, salad bar, and homemade soups. In addition, bagels, donuts, cookies, beverages, and snacks are offered. It is located on the first floor.
Hours: 7 a.m.–7 p.m., daily
MetroHealth Towers Café offers Starbucks coffees and specialty drinks, smoothies, panini sandwiches, fresh gourmet sandwiches and salads, homemade soups, bagels, and gourmet desserts and pastries. It is located on the first floor, next to the gift shop.
Hours: 6 a.m.–11 p.m., Monday–Friday
MetroHealth Outpatient Plaza Café offers Starbucks coffees, fresh gourmet sandwiches and salads, homemade soups, hotdogs, warm pretzels, bagels, pastries, donuts, beverages, and snacks. It is located in the Outpatient Plaza Atrium, second floor.
Hours: 7 a.m.–2:30 p.m., Monday–Friday
In addition, vending machines are located in the Critical Care Pavilion near the Emergency Department near Radiology (take the E elevators to the ground floor), and the Inpatient Towers, eighth floor lounge.
Public Telephones
Public telephones are located throughout the hospital, including the main lobby, Emergency Department, surgery waiting area, cafeteria, Bell Greve building, and Outpatient Plaza.
Cell Phone Usage
The use of cell phones is not permitted in patient care areas of the medical center. Cell phones are allowed in public areas. Please observe posted signs.
Religious/Spiritual Support
Representatives of various religions can provide support in the hospital to you and your family. Please call 216-778-4663 or visit our Pastoral Care Web site.
Gift and Flower Shops
The Merry-Go-Round Gift Shop is located on the first floor, south of the main lobby. It offers a wide assortment of gifts. Hours of operation are variable. Please call 216-778-5676 for more information.
